The Pride is... 50 girls with birthdays between 8/1/97 and 7/31/98 who love to compete, love to learn and love to play soccer.
The Pride competes... in both the Washington Area Girls Soccer League (WAGS) and the Old Dominion Soccer League (ODSL). Our teams compete against teams all over Northern Virginia and the DC Metro area as well as participate in tournaments throughout the Mid-Atlantic region. The Pride is trained by... The Pride is a member of... Springfield South County Youth Club and we are sanctioned by the Virginia Youth Soccer Association The Pride home field... is Hooes Road Park in Springfield, Virginia. SYC Pride offers a family of four teams (three WAGS teams and an ODSL team) that is trained as an academy with a full range of competitive levels. We are seeking motivated goal keepers and field players. Initial placement and subsequent movement among teams is determined by interest/ability. Columbus Day ChampionsPride White went undefeated in the Beach FC Columbus Day Tournament in Virginia Beach over Columbus Day weekend. Contributions all over the field from every girl on the roster highlighted the weekend. 2009 Twin Cities Classic ChampionsPride Blue opened their Fall preseason with three victories to earn the championship in the Twin Cities Classic in Winston-Salem, NC in August. The girls fought off a tough Roanoke team on Sunday morning to take home gold medals. 2009 Virginian SemifinalistsPride Gold and Pride Blue both advanced to the semifinals in the 2009 Virginian tournament. Pride Blue fell in PK's while Gold fell to a strong Loudoun White team. Congrats to both teams on a solid tournament weekend!Division 2 ODSL ChampionsPride Gold finished with 7 wins and only one loss in their first year of ODSL competition taking first place in ODSL Division 2. Congrats on a great season Pride Gold!More Tournaments...Pride White advanced to the championship game in the CMSSL March Mania tournament in Columbia, Maryland, but couldn't fight off a tough Calverton team. The girls finished with two strong wins and a draw over the weekend in this preseason tuneup.Pride Red wins the Hunt Country Classic! ![]() Pride Red - Champions, 2008 Hunt Country Classic Pride Red played some super soccer in the 2008 Hunt Country Classic in November. The girls won a semifinal on penalty kicks and convincingly wrapped up the championship in the final 3-1 over a Stafford team that handed them their only defeat of the weekend earlier in the tournament. Congrats girls! ![]() Pride White at FC Frederick Small Sided Shootout Pride White finished as the runner-up based on tiebreaker points in the FC Frederick Small Sided Shootout over Columbus Day weekend. After dropping the first match to the host FC Frederick Blue team, the Pride ran off three straight wins to finish the weekend with some excellent soccer and bring home a second place trophy. Pride Red finished with a couple solid victories in the FC Frederick Small Sided Shootout while Pride Blue and Pride Gold both brought home victories in the Richmond Kickers Columbus Day weekend event. Well done Pride girls! 2008 Virginian Champions!Pride White won the U10 Girls Silver East Division Championship on Memorial Day with a 1-0 victory over Loudoun 97 Black in a rematch of the Arlington Invitational March championship game. This capped a run of four victories against only one loss in a holiday weekend full of soccer. Pride Blue were semifinalists in the U10 Girls Silver West Division and lost a heart breaker in penalty kicks to the eventual champion.Pride Red ran off two convincing shutout victories by a combined 8-0 margin, but was also nipped twice for losses to come up just short of the championship in the U10 Girls Bronze Division.
